Rohini Prasad is the son of the well-known Telugu writer Kodavatiganti Kutumba Rao.
Prasad has been writing on popular science, music and other subjects in his mother-tongue Telugu. The journals include cybermagazines like eemaata.com, www.apweekly.com as well as journals like Rasamayi, Praja Sahiti, Arunatara etc. He wrote a weekly column on Musical Greats in the Chembur-Ghatkopar Plus supplement of the Times of India. He also wrote dubbing script and lyrics for the TV serials like Om namah shivaya, Jap tap vrat, several educational films, audio cassettes featuring devotional songs etc.
He has edited some Telugu periodicals in Bombay and is the founder editor of the Telugu edition of Kalnirnay (www.kalnirnay.com), the popular calendar-almanac.
Prasad edited the brochure released on the occasion of the 4th All India Telugu Conference organised in Bombay in April 1997 by the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad.
Prasad has been a member of the National Centre for Science Communicators set up by the Marathi Vidnyan Parishad, Bombay. He organised the Telugu group in the National Conference for Science Writers held in Bombay in Dec 1996 and was an Organising Committee member for the International Conference for Science Communicators held in Pune in Jan 2000.
